this is the drawing i finished today. i had an earlier version i wasn’t happy with, and i still think the hair is maybe too refined. photographic hair is all spritzes and specks and hard to draw. and i had trouble with his eyes, but i always have trouble with those.
DEAR GOD I HAD NO IDEA THIS WAS A PAINTING UNTIL I READ THE NOTE

WIP: Erik x Charles. I SWEAR I MUST BE GENETICALLY INCAPABLE OF DRAWING MICHAEL FASSBENDER’S FACE. It’s like, James McAvoy will take me about five minutes w/out reference and then suddenly I’ll be stuck on Erik for the next two hours because I’ll go “shit the lines look funny” and start editing them and then realise that EVERYTHING IS WRONG and have to erase it all and start ALL OVER AGAIN. Multiple times. /ZETSUBOUSHITA

I was making a Charles/Erik fanmix when this song popped up and I can’t unhear it
I can promise you that is an accurate representation of what Matthew Bellamy looks like

This WIP is taking way too long. It was supposed to be a CARTOON and then it turns out I’m actually a natural at drawing James McAvoy without visual reference so I had to go and make everything else look less cartoony and then I kind of forgot how much fun I have when painting skin tones and in conclusion I should really do my art on paper instead of on computer because I TAKE FOREVER TO DO ANYTHING ON COMPUTER.

The spirk tag doesn’t nearly get enough love for my taste. I will reblog some of my favorite pictures. It’s nothing new, but yeah…
This is incredibly gorgeous, particularly their facial expressions.
Reblogging just because. OMG.

Nothing In My Way: Mirror art inspired by Keane’s “Under The Iron Sea” and X-Men: First Class.
Motifs taken directly from artwork for Under The Iron Sea: the Russian Orthodox-style spires, the falling bombs, the waves/clouds (sort of) and the horse-head (which I turned into a knight).
(Nothing In My Way is my personal Charles/Erik shipper song. I am assembling a fanmix and I put it all at the feet of that song)
