On one hand, it’s nice to see some discussion on what constitutes decency that doesn’t involve the shaming/objectification of women’s bodies. On the other hand, the double standards bubbling up in response to this are just killing me.
Abercrombie & Fitch ad ‘indecent’ but will stay for now

Can you tell me how is this indecent and violating some advertising authority code, compared to all the Triumph bra ads so openly displayed and so very appropriate?
Two words; double standards.
“I think ppl who complained r mostly men, how to get that chest? that 6-packs?? After seeing that poster, my wife gets turn off by my figure!!! So, yes, remove it!!!”

CLEARLY HE NEEDS A BRA THEN.

Patriots Nobody puts up the flag for National Day anymore. My family doesn’t. If we see the face of a block of flats adorned with flags we know, without a doubt, that it’s the work of the local RC. People these days cannot be bothered.
Things used to be different. Twenty years ago when I was a little girl we used to put out the flag every year. I remember the excitement, I remember the pride: it was a great thing, to hang the flag under our window. During the month of August we used to make a sport of standing under HDB flats, under the grid of flags neatly lined up in rows, to count the number of morons who had hung the flag backwards— how stupid could they be? It wasn’t rocket science.
But now, older and more cynical, I’m beginning to wonder if some of those terbalik flags were mis-hung on purpose. That those little stars and crescents, pointing left in an orderly sea of flags obediently marching right, might have been a little act of rebellion in themselves. Going their own way, in their own quiet fashion. And there are times, these days, that I wonder what it would be like if I were to go out and buy a flag and then put it up backwards. -
S'pore 10th Most Expensive City In The World To Live In
The 3rd most expensive city in Asia, and way ahead of America’s most expensive city, New York, which comes in at #23.
The kicker is that even before the re-rankings due to the falling pound & Euro, Singapore was already ahead of New York in terms of cost of living (#15 vs #39). Get that, it’s more expensive to live in Singapore than in MOTHERFUCKING NEW YORK. How the hell is that possible? My monthly take-home paycheck only works out to US$1000, motherfuck!
That explains why it’s a monthly struggle to feed myself and pay for bus and train rides, goddamn.
